We worked on a building located on Barakhamba Road, CP, Delhi, which was approximately 75 years old. The columns of the building had experienced concrete spalling, and the concrete cover on the slabs had deteriorated, exposing the steel reinforcement underneath, which had suffered complete corrosion. To address this issue, we carried out repairs using micro-concrete. Micro-concrete is a high- strength, non-shrink material that helps restore the structural integrity of the damaged concrete and protect the steel reinforcement from further corrosion.
This building’s columns and Beam are damaged. To repair and strengthen them, we used a method called micro-concrete jacketing. This involves applying a high- strength concrete layer over the damaged structure to restore its strength and durability, improving the load- bearing capacity without the need for major reconstruction.
We carried out column strengthening using RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) jacketing at a building in Capital, located in Sector 383, Udyog Vihar Phase 3. The reason for this strengthening was that the building had added two additional floors, which required enhancing the load-bearing capacity of the existing columns to safely support the increased weight and load from the extra floors. RCC jacketing was applied as a method to reinforce the columns and ensure structural stability.
In DLF Building No. 5, Gurugram, we are performing CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) and RCC jacketing work. The CFRP is being applied to strengthen the structure by increasing its load-bearing capacity and providing additional reinforcement. Additionally, RCC jacketing is being carried out to repair and reinforce damaged columns or beams, ensuring the overall stability and safety of the building. These methods are being used to restore and enhance the structural integrity of the building.
At VK farmhouse in Vasant Kunj, one of the columns completely disappeared, causing the slab to collapse, which was a critical issue. We used a hydra crane to dismantle the damaged structure, performed slab cutting, and then applied jacks to lift the structure. Finally, we carried out RCC jacketing to restore and reinforce the damaged area.
